In this phase, ULI will invest in research, outreach, and engagement with faith-based organizations that have suitable land for development. A leadership team of faith-based leaders, developers, and housing advocates will be established to guide the program. Faith-based organizations will be selected to participate in the program based on their land potential, mission alignment, leadership commitment, community impact, and capacity.

Up to six selected faith-based team will participate in workshops focused on development skills such as financial feasibility, property management, and site regulations. Concurrently, teams will have access to technical assistance and coaching sessions focused on collaboration, tenant relations, and communication strategies. Peer learning sessions will foster reflection and problem-solving among participants, guided by regional leaders and expert professional consultants.

Teams will refine a project proposal to pitch to a panel of capital partners, housing developers, and potential partners. This “Faithful Futures” pitch event will provide the opportunity to formalize partnerships for development projects to advance into a pre-construction phase.

A cohort-wide event will allow for review of the program’s accomplishments and impact. Lessons learned will be documented and teams will receive continued support as they advance into development phases.
