Quincy N. Jones is the Director of Programs for The Works, Inc. (TWI), a Memphis based non-profit community development organization with a mission to rebuild, restore and renew communities while simultaneously eliminating barriers to revitalization. In his current role, Mr. Jones manages the organization’s Frayser Neighborhood Initiative, a multi-year project aimed at revitalizing residential structures in one of Memphis’ most economically challenged communities. In addition, Mr. Jones also serves as the primary project manager for the Northside Renaissance project which is the redevelopment of a vacant 270,000 square foot high school.
Prior to accepting his current role, Mr. Jones managed a $22M federal HOPE VI grant for the Memphis Housing Authority, which successfully developed 400 units of mixed finance apartments and townhomes near downtown Memphis.
Quincy is a self-described “advocate of the city”. Outside of his native Memphis, he has worked as a City Planner in Maryland as well as a Land Use Lobbyist for Saint Consulting in Washington, D.C.. In the latter role, he led grass root efforts concerning zoning and land use campaigns in 14 states and the District of Columbia from 2006 to 2010.
His passion for urban planning is most recognizable from his work with community-based non-profits, neighborhood groups and other professional organizations. Mr. Jones holds a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from The University of Memphis (2003) and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies & Public Policy from Dillard University (1996).
