UrbanPlan is a dynamic educational program by ULI that introduces students and community leaders to the complexities of urban development. Through a hands-on simulation, participants take on real-world roles—developers, city officials, and community stakeholders—to design and negotiate a redevelopment project.

UrbanPlan at ULI Southwest Missouri is a transformative learning experience for high school, university, and civic participants. It builds critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills and offers insight into how cities evolve and the trade-offs involved in land-use decisions.

Participants gain a practical understanding of planning, real estate finance, and public-private partnerships by engaging with industry professionals as facilitators. UrbanPlan equips future leaders and decision-makers with the knowledge to create more sustainable, inclusive, and economically viable communities in Southwest Missouri.
